Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Money Badger ("Money Badger", "we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Money Badger.
By using the service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into these Terms.
3. Description of Service
Money Badger provides budgeting, financial organization, transaction review, planning, and related financial management tools.
Money Badger is intended to help users organize and understand financial information.
Money Badger is not a bank, lender, broker-dealer, investment adviser, tax adviser, accounting firm, or financial institution.
4. Alpha Status
Money Badger is currently an Alpha-stage product.
Features may be incomplete, unavailable, modified, or removed without notice.
Users should expect bugs, interruptions, inaccurate results, and changes to functionality while the service remains in Alpha.
You acknowledge that Alpha software carries a higher risk of defects than production software.
Users are responsible for maintaining their own records and should not rely on Money Badger as the sole repository of financial information while the service remains in Alpha.
5. No Financial, Legal, Tax, or Investment Advice
Money Badger provides tools and information only.
Nothing within Money Badger constitutes:
- Financial advice
- Investment advice
- Legal advice
- Tax advice
- Accounting advice
You remain solely responsible for your financial decisions and actions.
You should consult qualified professionals before making financial, legal, tax, investment, or accounting decisions.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate account information.
- Maintain the security of your account.
- Protect your password and authentication methods.
- Use the service lawfully.
- Review imported financial information for accuracy.
You are responsible for all activity occurring under your account.
7. Third-Party Services
Money Badger may integrate with third-party services including:
- Plaid
- Stripe
- Other providers introduced in the future
Your use of third-party services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies provided by those third parties.
Money Badger is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, or actions of third-party services.
Financial account connectivity is provided through Plaid.
By connecting a financial account, you authorize Money Badger and Plaid to access, retrieve, and process account and transaction information as necessary to provide requested services.
Your relationship with Plaid is also governed by Plaid's applicable terms and privacy policies.
If paid features are introduced in the future, additional billing terms may apply and will be presented before purchase.
8. User Content and Data
You retain ownership of information that you submit to Money Badger.
You grant Money Badger permission to process, store, display, and use submitted information solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, securing, and improving the service.
9. Account Suspension and Termination
Money Badger may suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these Terms
- Abuse the platform
- Attempt unauthorized access
- Interfere with operation of the service
- Present security risks
Users may request account deletion through available account management tools.
Account deletion and data retention are governed by the Privacy Policy.
10. Service Availability
Money Badger does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
The service may be unavailable due to:
- Maintenance
- Upgrades
- Infrastructure failures
- Third-party outages
- Security events
- Other operational reasons
Features may change, be modified, or be removed at any time.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
Money Badger is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Money Badger disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy
- Reliability
- Availability
Money Badger does not warrant that information, calculations, categorizations, budgets, forecasts, or reports will be complete, accurate, or error-free.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Money Badger and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the service.
This includes, without limitation:
- Financial losses
- Lost profits
- Lost data
- Business interruption
- Investment losses
- Tax consequences
- Errors in imported or displayed information
Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using the service.
13. Changes to the Service and Terms
Money Badger may modify the service or these Terms at any time.
When material changes occur, we may provide notice through the application, email, or other reasonable methods.
Continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
